The 2010 Suzuki SX4 is offered as either a 5-door hatchback or 4-door sedan. Sedans are available in Base, LE, and LE Popular trim, with Sport Sedans available in S, SE and GTS trim. Hatchbacks are offered in Base, Technology, Touring or GTS trim levels. All-wheel drive is available, but only in the 5-door hatchback, now known as the Crossover. The basic sedan starts at $13,359, while the Crossover is listed at $15,849 and the SportBack at $17,949. Two new transmissions are now available, including a close-ratio 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic, which comes standard with paddle shifters and a "sport" mode. All models are powered by the same 2.0-liter 16-valve 4-cylinder engine as offered in 2009, which has been tuned to produce 150 horsepower (148 when equipped with the CVT) and 140 foot-pounds of torque--up from 2009's 143 horsepower and 136 pound-feet. The front-wheel drive Sport Sedan is estimated to achieve 23 mpg city and 32 mpg highway when equipped with the 6-speed manual, while the CVT returns 23 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. Both all-wheel drive Crossovers and front-wheel drive SportBacks are rated at 22 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. The Crossover retains Suzuki's all-wheel drive system, which lacks a low range but can be run in two-wheel drive, or be set to allow for a 50/50 split in power between the front and rear wheels. The SportBack joins the lineup this year, based on the 5-door hatchback with the GTS package. It features front-wheel drive, sport-tuned suspension, a new and distinct front fascia design, front and rear spoilers, and roof rack delete. Navigation is standard, as is a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, 8-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo with 6-disc changer and MP3 playback, power windows and locks, remote keyless entry, SmartPass electronic start and automatic climate control. Available safety features across the line include ABS, traction control, an antiskid system, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. Other available options include pop-up touchscreen navigation with enhanced 3D graphics, keyless entry, remote start, wireless cell phone link, and one-year access to MSN's Direct Services, which features real-time traffic and weather updates as part of its service.
